Goalscorer tips from Jimmy The Punt, whose 29/1 World Cup double for Tuesday's matches features in-demand Cody Gakpo.
Netherlands v Qatar - Cody Gakpo
Cody Gakpo has two in as many games for Oranje, opening the scoring in each of his nation's World Cup games.
He broke the deadlock in the 84 minute against Senegal and repeated that trick 78 minutes earlier in the following game against Ecuador with a clinical finish. He tucked his effort home from outside the area, a shot that had an xG of just 0.06!
Rumour has it he will become a Manchester United player in January, the Gemeente Eindhoven frontman will be licking his lips at the prospect of facing this Qatar side that have shipped five goals already.
He’s hit the double twice this season and has taken home one matchball in 26 appearances, and with that in mind backing him to back the brace or hit the treble at chunky prices might be worth a go as well.
Anytime is the play for me though.
Wales v England - Harry Maguire
I touted Harry Maguire to score in England’s opening game against Iran and the Manchester United man could not have gone much closer as he rattled the crossbar with the score still at 0-0.
The defender has endured a rough few months at club level and Gareth Southgate’s decision to include him in the squad divided opinion but Maguire has not put a foot wrong so far.
He was outstanding during the stalemate with USA, scoring the highest rating to earn WhoScored’s star man making twice as many clearances as anyone else on the pitch (8).
The Three Lions put a lot into their set pieces, we have seen how they utilise the quality of Kieran Trippier, and I think Maguire could pop up with a goal his performances deserve.
