Wales vs England

After both England and Wales produced limp attacking displays in their second group matches, the two captains will be fired up to deliver more excitement for the fans.

We fancy both of them to get on the scoresheet first for their team at the Ahmad bin Ali Stadium in Al Rayyan in our 14/1 Bet Builder for Tuesday's match.

The new Bet Builder page on oddschecker is a marketplace for pre-populated Bet Builders covering all the biggest football matches. You can filter and find your chosen Bet Builder according to match date, competition, specific game, betting markets and your preferred odds range.

Gareth Bale to Score First for Wales

Gareth Bale is Wales' record goalscorer with 41 and the Dragons' all-time appearance holder with 110. This time last week, he became the first Welshman to score at a World Cup since 1958 as his side came from behind to draw 1-1 with the USA in Ar Rayyan.

Put simply, if Wales are to score against England, it is extremely likely to be Bale. He scored a free-kick against England at Euro 2016 before the Three Lions came from behind to win 2-1. Five of his 41 Wales goals came in qualifying for this tournament.

Harry Kane to Score First for England

Harry Kane is a man under pressure, as he was heading into the knockout matches at Euro 2020. Having failed to score against Croatia, Scotland and the Czech Republic, Kane scored England's second against Germany, a brace against Ukraine and the semi-final winner against Denmark.

Alan Shearer has called for Gareth Southgate to start Callum Wilson ahead of Kane against Wales, something that feels extremely unlikely to happen. The captain, still two goals short of equalling Wayne Rooney’s England record, will be desperate to silence the critics against Wales.

And like Bale, Kane also has penalties on his side. 15 of them have helped him on his way to 51 international goals, while on three occasions he has scored two penalties as part of a hat-trick.
