Red hot Derby County welcome Premier League strugglers West Ham United to Pride Park and will be hoping they can extend their unbeaten run and qualify for the next round. West Ham will see this as a welcomed distraction from their Premier League woes and will be keen to avoid an embarrassing defeat. But who will come out on top?
Derby County vs West Ham United Stats
- Derby are unbeaten in League One since 21st October and have won their last five in the division on the bounce.
- West Ham United have conceded in nine of their ten league away matches.
- The hosts have scored in 11 of their 13 home league matches.
Derby County vs West Ham United Prediction:
Betting Tip: Both teams to score
The hosts have been in marvellous form and have gone unbeaten across their last 14 games, that run stretches back to 19 if you discount a loss to Liverpool in the EFL Cup on penalties.
They have no problem scoring goals and have scored at least twice in nine of those 14 matches. However, they have been anything but watertight defensively of late having conceded four goals across their three most recent outings and regardless of whether West Ham are struggling, the Premier League outfit should have the quality to create goal scoring opportunities.
This looks like a potential tie that could produce an upset. But both teams to score also looks like a real possibility between two sides that can be caught out in the defensive department.
As such, the 10/11 available on both of these sides firing makes plenty of appeal.
Betting Tip: Derby County win
As previously mentioned, this one has the potential to see an upset and Derby County will be confident they can get the better of the Hammers. This will be the first meeting between the pair since the Rams secured a 2-1 home victory when both were playing Championship football.
A similar result could be likely given the hosts are playing some good football and will always back themselves to get on the scoresheet. Unlike West Ham who’ve not fared well this season, winning just two of their domestic road matches all season and to make matters worse, new signing Danny Ings, who they would’ve been hoping could score the goals to take them clear of the relegation battle, is now facing a number of weeks out after suffering an injury.
When scouring the fixture list for potential upsets, this game certainly sticks out and the 7/2 available on Derby County knocking Premier League outfit West Ham out of the FA Cup by securing a win here looks a good option.
