Below is the reasoning behind each part of the bet.

Foden to Score Anytime

The first of a three-legged Bet Builder is for Phil Foden to score.

Foden has had 99 attempts at goal across the league campaign so far, the 8th most in the Premier League and only behind Erling Haaland amongst Manchester City players. 44 of those have been on target which ranks him 6th in the league and again only behind Haaland amongst his teammates.

As a result, the England international has scored a career high 17 league goals this term which puts him 7th in the race for the Golden Boot. However, with all those goals coming from open play only Ollie Watkins with 19 and Haaland with 20 have scored more non-penalty goals in the current campaign.

The last of which coming at the weekend in the 4-0 defeat of Fulham meaning he has scored nine goals in his last nine league appearances for City. Also hitting the back of the net in this fixture last season despite only coming on as a 77th minute substitute.

Ward-Prowse Over 0.5 Shots

The second selection is for James Ward-Prowse to have over 0.5 shots.

Although Pep’s men are unbeaten on home soil in the league this season, they have been conceding chances as illustrated by the fact they have only kept one clean sheet in their last five games at the Etihad. Looking further back it is just four shut outs from their last 15 league games at home.

Ward-Prowse is renowned for his threat from set-pieces and also ability to shoot from range. He opened the scoring for the Hammers in last weekend’s 3-1 defeat of Luton one of two shots he took on the day and his second goal in his last six starts.

The 29-year-old has had 44 attempts at goal in the league this season which is the third highest at West Ham. With those shots coming from 2916 minutes of action at an average of one every 66 minutes.

He has had at least one shot in 27 of his 36 Premier League appearances this term including two in the reverse fixture at the London Stadium in September. A game which saw him open the scoring with a header.

Soucek Over 1.5 Tackles

The final selection is for Tomas Soucek to make over 1.5 tackles.

With Manchester City topping the possession stats averaging 67% in home games we should see the visitors spending a lot of time chasing the ball. Something they are used to with only three clubs having a lower percentage of possession across the campaign to date.

Soucek has made 50 tackles so far this term the sixth highest amongst West Ham players. Making at least two tackles in 13 of his last 18 Premier League starts including in four of his last five.
