I really like this Koln side. They looked very good against Mainz for over an hour, controlling the game and looking comfortable, before a couple of shocking defensive lapses cost them two points – and almost a third with the visitors finishing the stronger side.

However, on their day they’re a match for anyone in the league, and they’ll feel they have the tools available to beat this Fortuna Dusseldorf outfit.

However, while they’re still finding it incredibly hard to win games, Uwe Rosler has turned Fortuna into a pretty sturdy outfit, evidenced by just one defeat in their nine games under him (with six draws).

It remains to be seen whether this will be enough to keep them up, but they’re unlikely to go around putting in stinking performances like what we saw from relegation rivals Werder Bremen on Monday.

However, I’m still leaning towards Koln in this; Mark Uth and Jhon Cordoba are a very good front two, and it’s less likely any defensive frailties will be punished considering Fortuna have mustered only 27 goals this season – the fewest in the league.

Markus Gisdol has done a brilliant job with Die Geißböcke, and while Rosler’s side will provide stiff opposition, their lack of goals will ultimately tell on Sunday.

Koln to win and under 4.5 goals in the game looks a solid odds-against punt.
