It’s clear than Koln are going to be a lot of fun for the rest of the season. Markus Gisdol’s men have been involved in two 2-2 draws since the Bundesliga’s resumption – one time throwing away a 2-0 lead, the other salvaging one with just a couple of minutes left.

It’s hard to pin down exactly how good Koln will be for the rest of the season, but they’ve shown enough strength going forward, as well as lapses at the back, to warrant sufficient attention from the neutral.

As for Hoffenheim, they appear a little rudderless.

They were winless in their six games before the league was postponed, and they’ve returned with a 3-0 home thumping by Hertha before drawing 1-1 at bottom side Paderborn.

Koln under Gisdol have generally been very good this season, and while the defensive lapses still appear to be a feature of their game, I fancy they’ll prolong Hoffenheim’s winless run by winning on Wednesday at the Rhein-Neckar-Arena.

Jhon Cordoba and Mark Uth make a very good attacking pair for Koln, and they will fancy having a go at a Hoffenheim defence who have conceded 12 goals in their last three home games – not that home games count for much anymore.

An under-cooked Hoffenheim versus an unpredictable Koln will make for an interesting spectacle, and at 9/5, an away win is very temptingly priced.
