Real Sociedad v Real Madrid - Sunday 19:15, Sky Sports 1
Real Madrid begin Zinedine Zidane’s first full season in charge looking for their first La Liga title in four seasons. After Rafa Benitez’s reign ended prematurely, the Madrid legend took over and his record of 19 wins in 23 games was very impressive considering it was his first senior managerial job, not to mention his Champions League triumph. His first game of the new season is against a Sociedad side who finished in the top half for the third time in the last four seasons, but only once they’d got rid of David Moyes. Madrid’s away record last season was strong and they lost only two games all season. They did however concede often and managed only five clean sheets. On 13 occasions both teams found the net and 11 of these had more than two goals. This trend has continued in Los Blancos’ friendlies, where in the five games they’ve played, four have had at least four goals. As such, we wouldn’t put you off backing Real Madrid to win and both teams to score. There has been little activity in the transfer department from Real and their only piece of business so far has been bringing back Alvaro Morata from Juventus after he scored 27 goals in 93 appearances in Italy. However, it’s the man he’s likely to compete with for the centre forward berth, Karim Benzema, who we’re backing to put his off-field troubles behind him and grab the first goal . The Frenchman has scored six goals in his last seven appearances against Sociedad and with Cristiano Ronaldo absent he’ll be the focal point of the attack.
Benzema To Score First - 1pt @ 9/2
Real Madrid To Win And Both Teams To Score - 1pt @ 5/2
