Villarreal v Osasuna - Sunday 17:30, Sky Sports 5
Villarreal spoiled Real Madrid’s party at the Bernabeu on Wednesday night as they prevented their hosts from breaking the record for consecutive La Liga victories, scrapping their way to a 1-1 draw. As a result they remain unbeaten, which is somewhat surprising as they were expected to struggle when Marcelino left just prior to the season, but Fran Escriba has come in and done a good job. Promoted Osasuna, meanwhile, have picked up just two points so far and are favourites to go down.
Villarreal’s home record is an impressive W13-D5-L3 since the start of last season and they’ve won 10 of their 12 home matches against bottom-six sides since the start of 2014/15, keeping nine clean sheets in these games. Indeed, the Yellow Submarine have now shut out their opponents in 10 of their last 14 at home.
Osasuna have managed just four goals in their five games and were very much an ‘unders’ team in the Segunda last term, where they were solid defensively, and only Real Madrid have scored more than twice against them so far. Since Villarreal have netted more than twice in only one of their last 19 at home, we’re backing the home win and Under 2.5 Goals.
