Plymouth v Barnet - Tuesday 19:45
Plymouth suffered their first league defeat since August at the weekend - ending a remarkable run that had seen them pick up 38 points from a possible 42 - but the quick turnaround should work in their favour against a mediocre Barnet side. Expect the League Two leaders to serve up a furious response and take the 5/2 available on over 2.5 home team goals.
Only four teams in the division have conceded more goals than the Bees. They were smashed for five when trying to keep things tight at Portsmouth two months ago, while they have also found themselves 2-0 down by half time on recent trips to Doncaster, Shrewsbury and Grimsby. Given the same sighters of goal, you wouldn’t expect Argyle to be anything other than ruthless.
Barnet did play out a goalless draw with Crewe at the weekend but reports suggest the Railwaymen had several players carrying a bug. Prior to that, the Londoners had conceded at least twice in eight of nine matches in all competitions and their repetitive 4-4-2/4-4-1-1 set-up should be fairly easy for a shrewd tactician like Derek Adams to pick holes in.
The Pilgrims have been devastating in the final third for much of this campaign, without slipping through the gears more than is really necessary. If they consider this an opportunity to let their rivals know that the Grimsby result was just a hiccup, then there’s mileage in backing the Plymouth 4-0 and Plymouth 4-1 correct scores at 33/1 and 30/1 respectively.£10 Free Credit and a £500 Deposit Bonus
