Southampton v Watford - Saturday 15:00
Southampton have again sold several of their best players, with Wanyama, Pelle and Mane the latest to leave. Furthermore, Ronald Koeman has gone to Everton and been replaced by Claude Puel, after he impressed with Nice last season. Watford also have a new manager as Walter Mazzarri replaces Quique Sanchez Flores.
Saints were excellent at St. Mary’s last season as they went W11-D3-L5 and led at the break 12 times, but Watford were strong travelers in the first half of the season as they only lost two of their opening nine road games and those defeats came against champions Leicester and Man City.
Saints have managed to defy the loss of key players in recent times, but it has taken a little while to adjust as they only picked up one point from their opening two games in 2014/15 and two points from their first three last term. Since Watford have managed to keep hold of the likes of Deeney and last season’s top scorer Ighalo whilst also making some shrewd additions, including exciting young winger Isaac Success, it’s worth backing them to avoid defeat in this one.
