Arsenal can boost their top-four prospects with a win at the Hawthorns on Saturday.
West Brom v Arsenal – Saturday 12:30, Sky Sports 1
West Brom have lost their last two games at home to Palace and away at Everton, failing to score in both, though despite this they remain in eighth. While the loss to the former was unexpected and only the second time this season the Baggies have lost to a side currently below them in the table, the defeat at Goodison Park was altogether more predictable. Tony Pulis’ side have only picked up one point from nine games against the top seven this term, trailing at the break in five of the last seven of these.
Arsene Wenger put out a full-strength team to beat Lincoln 5-0 in their last match as the Gunners look to get their season back on track, but excluding non-league opposition in the FA Cup the Gunners have lost five of their last six, meaning nothing less than a win here will suffice for the Arsenal faithful. Like West Brom, they’ve struggled against better opposition, picking up just a solitary win against top-seven sides, losing each of the last four. Against the rest of the division they’ve triumphed in 14 from 18, with just one defeat.
Given this typical consistency from Arsenal against weaker sides, we think they can get a win here and now concentrate on their annual charge for 4th place. They’ve won five of their last six against the Baggies, keeping clean sheets in four, and having been ahead at both half-time and full-time in half of these, along with West Brom’s record against the top sides this season, we’re backing Arsenal/Arsenal HT/FT.100% Bonus Up to £200
