Bournemouth v Man City - Saturday 12.30 Sky Sports
Bournemouth were fairly lacklustre in defeat against Watford, with Eddie Howe expressing his disappointment at the performance and things certainly don’t get any easier for them as they host title favourites Man City. The Citizens were excellent on their travels last term - they were 11-D1-L1 when travelling to sides outside the top-seven, keeping a clean sheet in the last six of these victories, and we’re backing them to do the same here and win to nil.
The Cherries are yet to net this term and managed only two shots on target against Watford. They’re bound to find chances even harder to come by here against a City side that will dominate possession, something Bournemouth are used to doing themselves at the Vitality Stadium. Eddie Howe will be wary of a heavy defeat denting his side’s confidence even further after a poor start to the season and so is likely to set his side up to be tough to break down. The 2-0 Man City correct score looks worth backing here as that’s been the scoreline in three of the Citizens’ last five away triumphs.
Leroy Sane was brought on as the earliest of Guardiola’s substitutes in the victory over Brighton and he can be a significant threat coming off the bench with his explosive pace. His last three goals last term all came in away games and we think he’ll be able to stretch a weary Bournemouth defence that will likely have been chasing the ball all game when he’s introduced. The German is a great price to net anytime and to be the last goalscorer.
