The Sky cameras head to South West London this evening for the quarter finals of the Derby. With some big guns crashing out on Saturday evening, including ante post favourite Eden the Kid it’s all to play for!
Our first tip of the night runs in one of the appetisers for the main event (7.43pm). Ebony Flyer (Trap 3) has recorded the fastest time and fastest split on the clock so, given Roswell Iceman (Trap 2) may struggle to clear Trap 1 to the bend, the 4/1 about Trap 3 clearing the pair and going on to win looks a good bet.
Moving on to the Derby quarter-finals and Southfield Jock (Trap 2) looks to have a rock-solid chance of not only qualifying, but hitting the line first. The Seamus Cahill-trained dog should win the early pace battle and, if so, will be away and gone. Take the 6/4.
Southfield Jock - 2pts @ 6/4
Our final bet of the evening is in the third quarter-final. There was a lot of talk of a track bias here on Saturday evening, however Hiya Butt (Trap 1) was having none of it! The early-paced railer brushed Lenson Santi aside at the first bend and never looked back. Jaytee Jet is the obvious danger but the sole wide seed is not guaranteed another flyer, so 10/3 about Hiya Butt is good enough for us!
