Shalaa is the dominant two year old at six furlongs and is odds-on for the Middle Park.
As far as the Cambridgeshire goes, an initial shortlist of 11 has been whittled down to 3, all worth a play and the sole bets on the day. Gm Hopkins must get a mention as the best of those nearer the top of the market and I fancy he’ll go very close. However, there’s so much value to be had in behind and we start with Gabrials Kaka. He’s never one to take a short price about but is so well treated and this could be just the test he needs. The visor didn’t work last time but a big, wide, galloping straight track and big field over 9 should give him a sniff at a chunky price. Express Himself is another that looks too big and he’s had this on the agenda for a while. His Birdman form has worked out very well and he’s shaped nicely on his 2 latest starts. The most recent was over further and he was again keeping on but this mark still looks feasible and a big field test will suit over 9. The yard are going along nicely too. With 5 places widely available I also want a little on Margarets Mission at a silly price. She’s been over inadequate trips and this should be more her bag. It’s a step up but I thought she shaped well at York over too short in a hot race and we can put a line through Doncaster. As far as the draw goes I can’t see a benefit pace wise but these 3 provide ammunition across the track.
