Kalabek ran an outstanding race in defeat last week and is well worth supporting today.
Moonee Valley R2 No.1 - LOVE DAYS
This looks an excellent style of filly, she won on debut down at Warrnambool with as much ease as you'll see and also managed to run time v. some handy older horses! Looks like she should again cross to lead which should be no disadvantage based on recent pattern, cant see her taking any harm from the run and with that in mind she looks mighty hard to beat!
Moonee Valley R4 No.2 - LONCAVA
This Tony McEvoy trained gelding is racing in terrific style, he was a dominant all-the-way winner over the 3000m here two weeks ago. He again should punch up from the inside draw and quite comfortably hold them all out, think relative weights he's in ok with the 57kgs.
Moonee Valley R6 No.4 - KALABEK
Thought this mare was outstanding with no weight on a suicidal tempo here a week ago, jumped and was pestered all the way. As a result was only nabbed on the line by the well backed Whistle Baby. Drops in grade/rises in weight but keen she can run well on the quick back-up, will again roll forward and be there for a long way - she's come up good overs!
Doomben R3 No.5 - MIZARU
Promising filly who debuted well at the Sunshine Coast when working home strongly, it was dominated by those on speed so her effort is even better than it reads. Looks a touch more speed on paper and like that she's drawn in, if Goold can position her up a touch handier I think she'll be mighty hard to beat, big improver off that debut!
Mornington R5 No.4 - CAPTAIN ROYCE
Resumes. Jumped favourite as a 3yo in two smart races earlier this year but was tipped out after failing on both occasions. Had a sharp spin around at Flemington 27/11 when he jumped to the front and responded well to his riders urgings, hit the line nicely. This isnt a vintage race and Meech looks like she'll roll to the lead from the wide draw, track should suit.
