Good punting card at Newbury and I’m tempted by Benbens in a first time visor. I have a lot of time for this horse though he doesn’t often give the most competent of displays over his obstacles. His yard are flying though and he could be the answer. A more confident shout is Boite> for Warren Greatrex who has his team gong well. The majority of his runs have come on a decent surface but this son of Authorized is a half brother to a couple of heavy ground winners and he’s almost entirely untried on soft ground so we can’t call it a negative. He looks well treated on his Different Gravey form and is well worth a play. That said, there are undoubtedly a couple of other well treated horses in here and it’s not the easiest race to return to after a break but that’s why he’s the attractive price he is.
I want to have 2 on side for the feature. First up is Little Jon who just doesn’t look the same horse around Cheltenham. Back at the scene of his last win, he looks fairly treated based upon that and there should be a fair bit more to come from him. I also like the shortening all the time Laser Hawk. The choice of Paul Moloney, he is a course winner and his Arzal form back here next up has worked out very well. Testing ground doesn’t seem to have suited on his next few starts but the surface today should be more suitable and this 3 mile point winner looks likely to appreciate the step up in trip. He has bundles of stamina in his pedigree and the handicapper has given him a proper chance for an in form stable.
