We take a look at where the money is and pick out some of the best-backed horses today.
After winning on her debut, Sir Michael Stoute’s Engage hasn’t been able to replicate that success, despite coming close at Pontefract in April. A step up in distance from her win and a relatively strong field at Newbury, has not deterred punters though. An influx of money sees the filly at 9/2 compared to the early price of 8/1.
Yulong Xiongba runs at Hamilton in the 18.05. The 4 year old has been backed in from 4/1, to a seemingly more suitable price of 9/4. A winner over 7f, he has proved himself versatile -in terms of ground- with recent performances and should be right amongst it this evening.
A slightly less favoured horse is Toulson, who almost proved a 40-1 surprise at Bath on his debut. That run has not been forgotten and the market support reflects this, with a sea of blue across the grid. From 9/2 last night to 5/2 (in places) this morning, there is a clear sense of optimism with Tom Queally on board.
