We struck three winners from four tips yesterday at 9/4, 9/2 and 3/1.
With Ayr and Lingfield off we’ve only Southwell to look at today and in the first it is INGLEBY SPRING (NAP) (best price 13/2) that makes the most appeal at the price. Richard Fahey’s six year-old beat the current favourite Star Ascending – who is up 6lb for his last win - here in December over a slightly shorter trip and can be forgiven a bad run last month.
ROCK OF LEON (best price 7/1) is used to racing over longer distances and tackles the all-weather for the first time in over three years where he has a decent record, finishing outside the top three just twice in six. If he can find his rhythm on the fibresand he won’t fade and will be there or thereabouts at the finish.
In the last race of the day BROADHAVEN HONEY (best price 11/2) can take the spoils, a winner on her Southwell debut over today’s distance in November. She didn’t find much last time out here finishing tameley but there is more to come from this four-year-old.
