We reveal the three most backed horses on the first day at Sandown's Tingle Creek meeting.
LE BOIZELO won this race last year in commanding fashion, when staying on strongly in the run-in. The nine-year-old will have dusted off any cobwebs during his seasonal reappearance last month, when he kept on in the closing stages having been held up in the rear of the field. Dropped 2lb for that, it is no surprise to see him well backed here, and punters fancy him to pick this race up for the second year running.
STAR GATE couldn’t have been more impressive at Chepstow in October when winning cosily by six lengths. The form of that race is working out very well which makes the performance of Evan Williams’ runner even better. The four-year-old gets similar conditions today and we hopefully we will see another step forward from this exciting prospect. Nico De Boinville takes the ride.
WHITEHOTCHILLIFILI had a very good season last year, winning twice and being placed twice from her five runs. She ran well enough on her first start this season in a listed race, but couldn’t quite keep up with the leaders in what looked a strong race. With that run under her belt, the six-year-old is expected to be more at home back in handicap company. She steps up to 2m4f here and if she imrpoves for the trip, Harry Fry’s mare could prove hard to beat.
