We reveal the three most backed horses on the second day of Glorious Goodwood.
SISKANY was unlucky last time out at Royal Ascot when hampered by the eventual winner on the run-in. Were it not for the trouble he found, he may well have won the race. He’s been raised 2lb for that but a mark of 98 still looks very workable. Before the Royal Ascot run, he had won both his starts this season, with his victory in May at Sandown very impressive. The three-year-old has been backed from 5/1 into the 7/2 favourite for the race.
ONASSIS has been very well backed for this Group 3 with some solid form on testing ground conditions. The filly won over this course and distance on heavy going last October which punters think she could repeat today. She also won the Sandringham at Royal Ascot earlier in the season in impressive fashion. With fitness now on her side after two runs this season, Charlie Fellowes’ runner is fancied to get her head in front again.
FEARBY bolted up at Sandown last time out in a Listed contest and has been very well found in the market for the Molecomb Stakes. He easily beat both Mojomaker and Kaboo who line up again today. The two-year-old should handle the ground conditions with ease, so it’s no surprise to see him being so strongly supported. Trainer Edward Bethell is in fine form too, with four winners from his last nine runners.
