Crystal Palace vs Brighton Stats

•    There have been over 2.5 goals scored in Crystal Palace's last 3 league games.
•    5 of the last 6 meetings between these sides have seen both teams to score land

Betting Tip: Over 2.5 goals

It’s one of the more unusual rivalries that takes centre stage on Monday night football as Crystal Palace welcome Brighton and Hove Albion to Selhurst Park.

The visitors can go top of the league if they win here after a strong start which has seen 4 wins and just 1 defeat. Graham Potter will have been delighted to see the lively Tariq Lamptey return midweek after a lengthy lay off, Yves Bissouma should also be back after a knock.

They’ve been much more efficient than last season and the underlying data showed just how unfortunate they were last term, they’re making up for that now.

Palace have only won one game so far in all competitions and have a tricky run of fixtures coming up so it will be interesting to see how Patrick Vieira fares. Their only victory was a very impressive performance though against Spurs, if they can recreate that attacking flair here then we could be in for a great game.

Looking at the 1X2 market it has Brighton as slight favourites which looks fair enough. I’ll head to the goals market where over 2.5 goals just looks too big at 7/5 here.

Brighton have scored two or more goals in 5 of their 7 games in all competitions whereas Palace have bagged 5 in their last 3 but looked far from watertight at the back.

Betting Tip: Joel Veltman to be carded

I’ll also have a go on Joel Veltman to be carded at 5/1. He’s likely to be coming up against Wilfred Zaha, the most fouled player in the league. It may be worth waiting for team news as Lamptey could get a start.
