Architect Tips shares his Tote Placepot tips for today's racing at Warwick.
Leg 1 Selections: Sir Tivo
SIR TIVO is predominantly known as a chaser but she ran a really good race when runner-up following a two-month break three weeks ago, making the favourite work hard to take the spoils. The eight-year-old has winning form over course-and-distance and sets a clear standard, so this is an excellent opportunity for him to take top honours.
Leg 2 Selections: Northern Bound, La Cameleon
NORTHERN BOUND is a bit of a winning machine in this sphere and added another win to his impressive tally when easily beating Fat Sam at Bangor six weeks ago. He’s gone up seven-pounds but has won over track and trip and is the one to beat. LA CAMELEON ran well to finish as close as he did last time when fourth in a higher graded event despite jumping poorly and is only a couple of pounds higher than when winning two starts back. If fit enough on his return, Jane Williams’ charge should feature.
Leg 3 Selections: Lutinebella
A good race this with preference for the Fergal O’Brien-trained LUTINEBELLA, who was runner-up twice at this course in bumpers before winning impressively back here in February. She ran a huge race to finish third in a red-hot Grade Two contest when last spotted at Aintree and that is the best form on display. Given her course experience, having the best bumper form and the fact that she marginally holds Notnowlinda on a line through All The Glory, she can make the transition to hurdles a winning one and extend her impressive course record.
Leg 4 Selections: Twig, Trixster
TWIG has been in fantastic form this year and won back-to-back hunters’ in the spring before chasing home a decent sort at Worcester last time. He should have lots more to come for this yard and is a key player. TRIXSTER impressed with a wide-margin victory on his penultimate start and backed that up with a solid second next time at Ludlow. He is slightly preferred to Judge Earl.
Leg 5 Selections: Army Of One
A wide-open race but it could be worth taking a chance on ARMY OF ONE, who shaped well on her last attempt on this sphere and has been running reasonably well on the Flat since. She is down to a nice mark and should benefit from the drop in distance with Charlie Todd booked to ride. She remains unexposed compared to a few of these and could easily make the frame.
Leg 6 Selections: Cluain Aodha
CLUAIN AODHA has finished runner-up in both her starts over hurdles and probably would have won last time but for hanging all over the course down the home straight. The winner has been beaten since but she makes her handicap debut off a fair mark and is likely to be ridden prominently again, so with more to come, she should make a bold bid to open her account.
