Leg 1 Selections: Kepagge, Issam

KEPAGGE suddenly returned to form last time when a change of headgear worked a treat as he got back to winning ways at Ffos Las. His mark has been raised five pounds but he should make a bold bid to follow-up here, while ISSAM steps up in trip after two seconds and should be winning soon for this stable. His second two starts ago reads good form for this grade as well.

Leg 2 Selections: Buckhorn Rocco

This is a good opportunity for BUCKHORN ROCCO to get off the mark at the fourth time of asking in this sphere. Although he returned a beaten short-price favourite last time at this course, the race wasn’t run to suit and the longer trip should see him in better light. He is worth another chance given his second on hurdles debut to a 130-rated horse has worked out well.

Leg 3 Selections: River Tyne, Head And Heart

RIVER TYNE is steadily progressing over fences and has finished second in her last three starts, including when marginally denied last time by only half-a-length. Her mark has gone back up as a consequence but she should be able to handle it and should go close with a similar performance in this contest.

HEAD AND HEART has placed in two of her four starts over hurdles and makes her chase debut in what is a wide-open contest. A mark of 102 now dropped into a class five event should prove lenient plus her trainer has been amongst the winners of late as well. If she takes to fences, she could go well at double-digit odds.

Leg 4 Selections: Young Bull, Copperhead

YOUNG BULL has raced sparingly the last few years and has built up quite a consistent profile, who has only been out of the frame once in all starts over obstacles. Harry Whittington’s charge ran well after an absence when third at Haydock last time and his two placed efforts behind Demachine makes his mark of 123 attractive. He will be fitter and could have further progression to offer now trying a marathon trip for the first time.

The chasing career of COPPERHEAD has been largely disappointing since he won a Grade 2 as a novice but there’s no doubt he is well treated if able to rediscover some of his best form. His last two starts have been more encouraging and he is down to a near career-low mark over fences too. The nine-year-old could be suited to this extra emphasis on stamina and has a good chance if he stays the distance.

Leg 5 Selections: Viroflay

VIROFLAY hasn’t been seen under rules for a while but he absolutely battered his stablemate Hacker Des Places and given the second is now rated 140+, who won last time, the form looks really strong. The six-year-old has his attentions turn to Hunters at an early stage of his career and is fancied to make up for lost time.

Leg 6 Selections: Vinnie Sparkles, Highway Hero

VINNIE SPARKLES has transferred to Dan Skelton since winning on his debut between the flags and the betting suggests he is expected to make a winning start under rules. If that’s the case, he has to go onto the shortlist. HIGHWAY HERO might offer some value at large odds and is of interest with cheekpieces/tongue tie fitted.
