An improved Giants side can give the Cowboys an early wake up call on Sunday.
New York Giants at Dallas Cowboys – Sunday 21:25
The New York Giants travel south to Dallas Texas to face the Cowboys in a repeat of last year’s opening fixture. It was a bit of a classic last year when with just seven seconds left a TD thrown from Cowboys QB Tony Romo to tight end Jason Witten set up an extra point to win the game for the home team.
We can say with 100% certainty there won't be a repeat of that ending on Sunday as starting Cowboys QB Tony Romo is injured, again! It remains to be seen if he makes it back at all this year but what it does mean for the Cowboys is both the starting QB and running back for Dallas will be rookies. Fourth round pick Dak Prescott takes the reins at QB while first rounder Ezekiel Elliott has been touted as one of the best backs to come out of college for many years.
The Giants meanwhile have spent tens of millions in the free agency market trying to build a team to get back to the Super Bowl. The defense has been strengthened and with two-time SB winner Eli Manning throwing to Odell Beckham Jr on offense, they should always threaten to score points. We like the Giants to win this game and give the Cowboys new boys an early wake up call.
