Los Angeles Dodgers players dominate the betting market for World Series MVP, with five of the six frontrunners all hailing from Dodger Stadium.
Mookie Betts is the current favorite to win the award with the series tied at 1-1, with his odds of +300 carrying an implied chance of 25.00%.
Clayton Kershaw is a close second favorite with odds of +500, while Corey Seager (+1200), Cody Bellinger (+1500) and Walker Buehler (+1800) coming in fourth, fifth and sixth respectively in terms of favoritism.
Brandon Lowe stands as the lone Ray in the top five; his odds of +1200 put him joint-third with an implied probability of just 7.69% that he scoops the award.
Oddschecker spokesperson Pete Watt: “The betting markets for the two events – World Series winner and MVP winner – are intrinsically linked so while the Dodgers currently dominate, if the Rays can get ahead then we are almost certain to see the odds on the likes of Brandon Lowe and Blake Snell shorten considerably.”
“However, it’s of little surprise to see Mookie Betts leading the market, with the mercurial right fielder set to be a thorn in the Rays side of the rest of the series.”
