MLB Odds: Only Dodgers Have Better 2021 World Series Odds than Yankees, and Bettors Like New York

Following the Los Angeles Dodgers' victory over Tampa Bay Rays in the 2020 World Series, oddsmakers have already released the market for 2021, and the Dodgers are being picked to go back to back.

They lead the market with their odds of +480 carrying an implied chance of 17.24% that they defend their title.

The New York Yankees are deemed to be the best of the rest, with their odds of +700 placing them second with suggested probability of 12.50% that they win their first World Series since 2009.

The Atlanta Braves comes in third at +1200 (7.69% chance) while San Diego Padres and Tampa Bay Rays make up the top five with an equal price of +1300 (7.14% chance).

While New York may not be considered the oddsmakers’ favorite, they are certainly proving to be popular with bettors. Since the market opened following the Dodgers’ 4-2 series win earlier this week, more bets have been placed on the Yankees to win the 2021 edition than any other team.

And the Yankees are even more dominant in the betting for the American League. Not only are they the frontrunners in the market with their odds of +360 suggesting a 21.74% chance of winning, but they are also the top choice for gamblers, once again.
