2021 World Series Odds: Mets, Dodgers, Yankees Most Popular Picks
The 2020-2021 MLB offseason has been one of the strangest in recent memory. The free agent class has been as slow-moving as any in the history of the game. That hasn’t stopped bettors from finding their favorites on the market.
As could be expected, the large media market teams are the favorites. The New York Mets, New York Yankees and Los Angeles Dodgers make up 62.3% of total bets.
New York Mets World Series Odds
The Mets are leading the pack as 33.33% of total bets are being placed on them. FOX Bet is offering the best odds available at +2000 (click to bet) the Mets win the World Series, or just a 4.8% chance.
The Mets surge shouldn’t come as a huge surprise. After all, the team’s new owner Steve Cohen splashed the cash this offseason, adding nine new free agents and trading for stars Francisco Lindor and Carlos Carrasco. They are among the most improved teams in MLB. Combine that with FOX Bet giving them the 11th best odds to win the World Series, and it’s easy to see why bettors have fallen in love.
Los Angeles Dodgers World Series Odds
The Dodgers come in next at 15.79% of total bets. The reigning World Series champions are the favorite to repeat, as FOX Bet gives them +400 odds. They return most of their 2020 roster and they’ve added 2020 NL Cy Young award winner Trevor Bauer to their roster. It wouldn’t be a stretch to say they’re the best roster in MLB, on paper.

New York Yankees World Series Odds
The love for the Yankees comes as a bit of a surprise. The Bronx bombers have 13.16% of total bets placed on them, third most. The Yankees edged into the playoffs in 2020 due to the expanded postseason rules. They would have missed the playoffs under the current 2021 rules, and they haven’t done much to improve their roster this offseason.
Their starting lineup remains mostly unchanged, while the bullpen has had just one major change. Their starting rotation is among the most volatile in MLB with injury-prone starters Corey Kluber and Jamison Taillon expected to play large roles and young prospects Deivi Garcia and Clarke Schmidt behind them as back-end options. They don’t offer high upside, either, as their FOX Bet’s second favorite to win the World Series at +600.
