Juan Soto Next Team Odds: Padres Linked to Both Soto and Josh Bell

It's MLB trade deadline day! Fans of all teams can get excited for deadline day as your favorite team is either looking to buy pieces for a potential World Series run or if you're bad, you're looking to ship off any veterans for prospects. It's a win-win for everybody!

The biggest name on the market, without question, is superstar outfielder Juan Soto. Soto declined a massive contract offer from the Washington Nationals and now will likely be dealt by the deadline today.

On the season, Juan Soto has 21 home runs and an .894 OPS as he is trying to carry the corpse of the Washington Nationals lineup. When looking at the Juan Soto next team odds, the San Diego Padres are the most likely team to land him.

Padres +200 (Bet $100 to win $200)

As of this morning, the San Diego Padres have not only been linked to Juan Soto but also Josh Bell of the Washington Nationals too.

That would be a massive haul for the Padres who currently sit 12 games back of the Dodgers in the West and two games behind Atlanta for the number one wild card spot. They will likely be a playoff team but could use some reinforcements.

Imagine a lineup with Manny Machado, Juan Soto, Fernando Tatis Jr., and Josh Bell. That immediately makes the Padres a much more dangerous bunch to add that kind of star power to a team with a good starting rotation.

Cardinals +250 (Bet $100 to win $250)

The Cardinals are in a similar spot as the Padres as they are battling for a playoff spot. The Cards are three games behind the Brewers in the NL Central and find themselves a game out of the final Wild Card spot. A massive addition like Juan Soto completely changes things though.

The Cardinals have Paul Goldschmidt and Nolan Arenado playing at elite levels but the rest of that lineup really leaves a lot to be desired. Dylan Carlson who has spent most of the season in RF has a .724 OPS, a .318 OBP, and six home runs.

The now 23-year-old former first-round pick has been okay but nothing to write home about. Someone like Soto taking his place would be a massive, massive upgrade.
