New York Yankees World Series Odds: How the Trade Deadline Impacted the Odds

It was a busy day for the New York Yankees at the 2022 MLB Trade Deadline. Earlier in the week, they added Andrew Benintendi, Frankie Montas, Lou Trivino, and Scott Effross. They weren't done though as the best team in baseball arguably got better.

First, Brian Cashman traded Joey Gallo to the Los Angeles Dodgers. He needed a change of scenery after getting off to just a brutal start this year hitting only .159 with a .621 OPS. He also has 106 strikeouts in just 233 at bats.

Cashman followed that up by flipping Jordan Montgomery to the St. Louis Cardinals for Harrison Bader. Let's look at where the Yankees World Series odds are now after the MLB Trade Deadline.

The New York Yankees and Los Angeles Dodgers have the best World Series odds after the dust has settled on the MLB Trade Deadline. The Yankees have the best record in the American League at 70-34 and put themselves in a good spot by making these moves at the deadline.

Swapping out Jordan Montgomery for Frankie Montas is going to be huge. Monty was struggling lately, in his last two starts he allowed eight earned and only pitched 6.1 innings over that span.

Montas on the other hand is pitching to a 3.18 ETA and has a much higher ceiling than someone like Jordan Montgomery, especially in the postseason. A top of the rotation of Nestor Cortes, Gerritt Cole, and Frankie Montas is as good as it gets.

The Yanks should waltz their way to an American League East crown but in the Bronx, it's all about Championships. New York put themselves in a good spot to accomplish that goal with a strong 2022 MLB Trade Deadline.
