MLB Playoffs 2022 Odds: Philadelphia Phillies Given a 77% Chance to Make the Playoffs

Lost in the shuffle of the New York Mets and Atlanta Braves in the National League East, the Philadelphia Phillies are one of the hottest teams in baseball. Since the start of July, they are 24-14 for a .632 win percentage.

The most impressive part? The Phils are doing this while injured. Bryce Harper has been out of the lineup but they've been carried by Jean Segura and J.T. Realmuto. What are their chances of making the playoffs? Well, according to the MLB Playoffs 2022 odds, the chances are pretty good.

Phillies MLB Playoffs 2022 Odds: -330 (Bet $330 to win $100)

The Phils now have a 76.74% chance of being a playoff team after their most recent run of success in July and August. They currently sit in the second Wild Card spot and are a half-game up on San Deigo who is the third Wild Card team in the National League.

If the season were to end today, they would be taking on the Atlanta Braves in a best-of-three series hosted in Atlanta. In the regular season so far the Phillies are 6-6 (.500) so far on the year. An NL East crown is pretty unlikely but they trail the Braves by 6.5 games.

The Phillies have had success with the long ball as Kyle Schwarber has 34 of his own and Rhys Hoskins has 24. Bryce Harper is expected to return in September which would give them a nice push towards the finish line.

Aaron Nola and Zack Wheeler have been great at the top of the rotation this year and the Phillies added Noah Syndergaard at the trade deadline for rotation depth. They feel like a fairly safe bet to be a playoff team.
