Kristaps Porzingis Traded to the Mavericks

Knicks fans are in despair after Kristaps Porzingis was traded to the Dallas Mavericks, seemingly minutes after rumors of his dissatisfaction in New York were leaked. There was shock around the NFL as the 23-year old Latvian was moved to Dallas, in additon to Tim Hardaway Jr, Trey Burke and Courtney Lee, for Dennis Smith Jr, DeAndrew Jordan, Wesley Matthews and first-round picks in 2021 and 2023.
The move is a coup for the Mavs who have gone from no stars to two stars within a year. The 7ft 3in center will be teaming up with Luka Doncic, who has had a superb debut season and is likely to be named the NBA's Rookie of the Year.
With Porzingis and Hardaway Jr now gone the Knicks will have a huge amount of cap space next summer, which will surely see them spending big in the free agent market, which looks particuarly deep this year. The ability to pair two big stars with a high draft pick, quite possibly Zion Williamson, would immediately make the Knicks a force going into next season.
