38-year old Spanish NBA-veteran Pau Gasol has just completed his move to the high-flying Milwaukee Bucks, mere days removed from an agreed buyout of his contract with the San Antonio Spurs.
The 2001 1st round draft pick (3rd overall) has seen his game time limited this year due to inconsistent performances on the court. Gasol put out a tweet yesterday evening stating he was “thrilled” to join the Bucks, and he was looking forward to the challenge to help them towards their championship aspirations.
The seven-foot tall Gasol has done it all in the NBA and now looks likely to play for his new side in a ‘sixth-man’ capacity, helping them to add balance to their offense and hoping to drive them to their first championship title in 48 years. It would seem with the Bucks clintching their playoff spot early, he has been brought into the team to see out their regular season and assist them in the tough postseason that lays ahead. One thing is for sure, a third NBA title would cap-off the career nicely of this long-time servant of the game.
