Yesterday the internet broke when Dame Lillard was announced at the latest cover star of the NBA 2K series. The Portland star replaces the Lakers' Anthony Davis on the upcoming NBA 2K21.

It was later announced that Zion Williamson will be the games next-gen star, causing uproar when he was picked over the likes of Luka Doncic and Ja Morant, who've done more than Zion, however good he's looked in his 19 games for the Pelicans.

But do either of these stars have a chance of winning the NBA Championship this year in Orlando?

Whilst appearing on the cover doesn't have the same curse as appearing on Madden, it's going to be tough for either man this year judging by the latest odds.

Derrick Rose had arguably the worst season of any cover star, failing to play a single minute when he was on the 2K13 cover alongside Kevin Durant and Blake Griffin.

NBA 2K19 was better for Giannis Antetokounmpo with the Greek Freak making the Eastern Conference Finals to the eventual champions the Toronto Raptors. Despite that he managed be first-team All-NBA, All-Defense, as well as winning the MVP award.

Steph Curry's 2K16 season has to be the most succesful with the Warriors' star leading his team to a record breaking 73-win season, a ring, and his second MVP trophy in as many years.

Dame Lillard's Trail Blazers are currently 15th favorite for this years prize, at a huge +25000, with Zion's Pelicans shorter at +20000, given the form they found themselves in before the league was paused.

The Bucks, and former cover-star Giannis, who are +250 favorites for the title, given their easier path to the Finals through the East. Current NBA 2K star Anthony Davis is a close second favorite, available at +270 for the Lakers to win in Orlando.
