With the play-in series behind us and the NBA Playoffs ready to get underway on Monday, bettors are gearing up for the home stretch.
Part of that has included getting in their futures wagers before teams go on postseason runs and lose their value.
So which team has been the most popular among bettors since the NBA regular season wrapped up? It’s not the Lakers, the Clippers or even the East-leading Bucks, but rather the Toronto Raptors.
28.95% of all bettors have backed Toronto since the end of Friday night’s games. The Raptors’ best odds of +1200 are the fourth shortest in the league and imply a 7.7% chance they go back-to-back.
Toronto is 7-1 in bubble play, earning the No. 2 seed in the East. They face the Brooklyn Nets in Round 1.
This year’s favorite, the Bucks (+270) have been backed by 17.11% of bettors, which ranks third behind Toronto and the Clippers.
The Lakers, who own the West’s top seed, have just 7.89% of champion bets backing them since Friday night.
