The opening day of this year's NBA Playoffs went to plan, but the second day most certainly didn't. Yesterday saw the +882 Orlando Magic start off the day with a huge shock as they defeated the #1 seed in the Eastern Conference, the Milwaukee Bucks, who were as short as -1667 with some books.
The Magic ended up winning by 12 points, despite the line being Magic +12.5, creating a near 25 point swing on what the books expected.
One bettor with BetMGM placed $665 on the Magic and returned over $6k, which is mindblowing.
Next we saw favorites Miami and Houston secure wins, both comfortably covering the spread too. Then, for the final game of the day we saw arguably the most anticipated 1 vs. 8 seed game in recent memory, as the Lakers faced the Trail Blazers.
Portland had become a popular underdog bet, due to Damian Lillard's heroics in the bubble, and were available at +254 to win. Most sharps and commentators however thought the Lakers would easily win and take advantage of Portland's defense. That didn't happen with Portland securing a 7-point victory.
If you'd have bet on the Magic and Blazers on the moneyline you'd have been able to snag huge +3983 odds! Meaning that if you'd have wagered $50 you'd have returned $2041!
A four-leg parlay, with the other winners Miami and Houston would have returned $6704 from a $50 stake.
We'll be looking for more upsets on today's slate of NBA Playoff games.
