1. Houston Rockets – 16.31% of Wagers
When you win your first game of the Playoffs without your All-Star point guard, Russell Westbrook, people are going to take notice. That’s exactly what has happened here as the Rockets are the most-backed team to win the NBA Championship over the past 24 hours. James Harden’s 37 points propelled the Rockets past the Thunder in Game 1, and if they can win another game before Westbrook returns, they’ll be in good shape to advance. It also helps that their potential second-round opponent, the Los Angeles Lakers, were upset in Game 1 by the No. 8 Portland Trail Blazers

2. Toronto Raptors – 12.77% of Wagers
No list of the most-backed teams in the NBA playoffs is complete without the Toronto Raptors. Toronto went 7-1 through 8 regular season bubble games and was the most-backed team in the NBA Championship winner market throughout most of the time in Orlando. So far in Round 1, they’re up 2-0 on the No. 7 Brooklyn Nets and look to be on their way to a sweep. Kyle Lowry, Fred Vanvleet and Pascal Siakam seem ready to make another run at a title in 2020.

3. Dallas Mavericks – 12.06% of Wagers
It’s easy to see why bettors have fallen in love with the Mavericks in the last 24 hours. For starters, they have the best young player in the NBA in point guard Luka Doncic. Even more importantly, they pulled off the upset in Game 2, defeating the No. 2 Los Angeles Clippers, 127-114. It’ll take everything they have to defeat the loaded Clippers, and you can expect Kawhi Leonard and Paul George to put up a fight before they go down, but Dallas’ potential has bettors running to back them at their massive price.

4. Los Angeles Clippers – 9.93% of Wagers
Speaking of the Los Angeles Clippers, they’re the number 4 team on our list and the current NBA Championship favorite, and it’s hard to make an argument against them. Sure, they dropped Game 2 to Dallas, but they still have one of – if not THE – best rosters in basketball with Kawhi Leonard, Paul George, Montrezl Harrell and Lou Williams. Hopefully they’ll get point guard Patrick Beverley back from his calf injury soon and pick up where they left off in the regular season. Game 3 will obviously be an important one, and if they come out and take care of business you can expect to see even more bettors going to the window for them.

5. Los Angeles Lakers – 9.93% of Wagers
The Lakers finding themselves on this list seems curious at first, but when you take a look at their odds it begins to make sense. The West’s top seed, the Lakers looked horrendous in Game 1 against the No. 8 Portland Trail Blazers. They ended up losing the game, 100-93. But, if you believe in the Lakers and LeBron James, their value has skyrocketed since the loss. The Lakers began the NBA postseason at +300 to win the NBA title, the second-shortest odds in the league. Following their Game 1 loss, the Lakers are now available at +500. The value is there, it’s just a matter of whether or not the Lakers can figure it out on the court before it’s too late.
