NBA Championship Odds: Lakers the Most Backed Team Over Weekend
It took a massive game from Anthony Davis and LeBron James, but the Lakers closed out the Portland Trail Blazers on Saturday with a 131-122 win in Game 5.
In response, bettors have begun to heavily back the Lakers to win the NBA Championship. Since Saturday, 32.12% of bets have been on the Lakers to win it all, almost double the second most popular bet, the Los Angeles Clippers.
At +300, the Lakers have a 25% implied probability at a title in 2020. The Clippers are the current favorite at +275 and the Bucks are the East’s favorite at +300.
The Clippers were backed by 17.52% of all bettors over the weekend, while the Celtics, following their Game 1 win over the Toronto Raptors, are the third most popular pick at 10.95%.
The Bucks, despite being the No. 1 team in the East, having the reigning MVP and finishing off the Magic on Saturday, were backed by only 5.11% of bettors.
