NBA Championship Odds & Betting Breakdown
We reported on Thursday that despite being the big betting underdog, bettors were still keeping the faith with Miami Heat – and they were right. Miami kept the Finals alive with a thrilling win over the Lakers in Game 5, defeating their rivals with a last-gasp 111-108 victory.
Understandably, the odds shortened dramatically for Miami Heat to win the NBA Championship outright, but bettors are wagering on them relentlessly too. In the past 24 hours, they’ve accounted for 74.51% of total wagers on the market with bettors believing that the historic comeback is on. Only once before has a team turned around a 3-1 deficit in NBA Finals history.
Ahead of Game 5, sportsbooks made the Lakers -310 to win the game and wrap up the title. Now, however, the books are not so sure. The early moneyline for the Lakers is -200, so while still favorites, they’re not as short as they were pre-game 5.
Los Angeles Lakers -200
Miami Heat +180

The similar obviously applies to the spread, with the Lakers being put in as giving Miami 5 on the spread. Keep a close eye on this as we get closer to tip-off, if the Heat stay as popular as they are right now with bettors this line could easily move to 4.
Los Angeles Lakers -5
Miami Heat +5
Before Game 5, Miami Heat were +2200 (22/1) to win the NBA Championship, those odds have now dropped dramatically. As you can see, the best odds available now are +610 (just over 6/1) for the Heat to complete the comeback, whereas the Lakers have drifted out to -700 from -1000 just 24 hours ago.
Los Angeles Lakers -700
Miami Heat +610
