Brooklyn Nets vs. Boston Celtics Odds For Game 3

Game 3 of this series is do or die for the Boston Celtics. If they’re able to pull off a win, they just need to duplicate that effort in Game 4 to tie the series up. If the Boston Celtics drop Game 3, you can pretty much write the Nets in for a sweep or 5-game series victory.

It hasn’t been pretty for Boston early on. In Game 1, they did a good job slowing the Nets defensively, they just couldn’t get their offense going. In Game 2, it was the defense that let them down as the Nets put up 130 points en route to a win. Can they put it all together in Game 3? Let’s look at some Brooklyn Nets vs. Boston Celtics odds.

Brooklyn Nets vs. Boston Celtics Moneyline Odds

Brooklyn Nets -300

Boston Celtics +250

These odds are about what you can expect when a star-studded team goes up 2-0 against a Celtics team that’s dealing with injuries and other issues. There isn’t a lot of value when it comes to Celtics vs. Nets moneyline. If you want to take the Nets, that -300 price is a little steep when the spread isn’t overwhelming. As for the Celtics, +250 is nice, but are you that confident the C’s can win outright. If so, that’s definitely the play in the moneyline market.

Brooklyn Nets Preview

This was really always how this series was going to play out. The Boorklyn Nets are a super team. They have a lineup that looks like it could easily be the starting squad for an All-Star team. When Blake Griffin is your fourth best player, you know you’re doing something right. The issue for the Celtics right now, and pretty much every team since he entered the league, has been stopping Kevin Durant.

For my money, Durant has leapfrogged LeBron James as the best player in the NBA. He’s certainly the most dynamic scorer and if he can stay healthy he’s almost unguardable. Game 2 was over by halftime as the Nets jumped out to a 71-47 lead at the break. If the Celtics have any chance of hanging around they need to prevent the early run from the Nets to keep the crowd in at and give them that advantage throughout.

Boston Celtics Preview

If Jayson Tatum wants to be considered one of the best players in the NBA, he’s going to need to do more than he’s done so far this series. Tatum scored a team-best 22 points in Game 1, but it came on 6-20 shooting. Game 2? Nine points while going 3-12 from the field. They need other guys like Kemba Walker and Marcus Smart to step up, but it starts with their franchise centrepiece.

One lone bright spot has been the play of Robert Williams. He’s looked good off the bench. It may be time to give him a few more minutes and see what his freakishly athletic style of play can do for the Celtics. Either way, they have to switch something up because right now, they have no chance.
