I’m a little torn on this Knicks team. Julius Randle has proven this year that he can be a real difference maker and continues to put up eye-popping numbers. Derrick Rose seems to have found the fountain of youth and is playing at the highest level we’ve seen in some time and Alec Burks has all of a sudden taken on the role of scorer in the postseason. But, how much longer will this last?

Tom Thibodeau is notorious for getting the most out of his players. He’s an excellent head coach and has proven that with results. BUT, it usually comes at a cost. Julius Randle played a full minute more than any other player in the NBA this season. He also played 71 games this season, more than all but one player in the top 15 of minutes played. The only player in that top 15 to have played more games? Knicks guard RJ Barrett. This team has been playing its heart out for months, when will they start showing signs of fatigue?

Atlanta Hawks Preview

It has been the Trae Young show in Atlanta this year and it will continue to be the Trae Young show until they’re bounced from the NBA Playoffs. In the regular season, we saw much more John Collins and Clint Capela, but Collins is averaging just six points in 25 minutes per game this series and Capela is scoring 6.5 in 35 minutes.

The best thing about this Knicks team is their defense and the intensity with which they play, and it’s had an impact on basically every Hawks player except Trae Young. The good news for Atlanta is they were able to steal a game on the road and now they head back home, where they’re a top team in the NBA.
