Los Angeles Lakers vs. Phoenix Suns Odds For Game 4

Games 2 and 3 in this series looked quite different than Game 1. Following a showing that saw them score just 90 points, they’ve scored 109 points in each game since. The main difference is Anthony Davis. It’s really that simple. He didn’t show up in Game 1 and he’s played great since. Will he continue that or will the Suns tie it up? Let’s take a look.

Los Angeles Lakers Preview

If Anthony Davis is going to play like this, the Lakers are going to be a problem throughout the Western Conference playoffs. Without Davis, this is just LeBron surrounded by a bunch of role players. With AD playing the way he’s capable, it’s one of the best 1-2 punches in the NBA.

It really doesn’t matter what the Suns do. As well as they’ve played this year, they can’t compete with the Lakers if they play good basketball. The Lakers have done a great job of not only limiting Chris Paul’s scoring, but also his ability to create and distribute. They need to keep that up if they’re going to hold off Phoenix in LA.

Phoenix Suns Preview

DeAndre Ayton has played some of his best basketball ever in this series, but it hasn’t been enough. They need to play better team defense against AD and they need to involve Chris Paul more in the scoring efforts.

If the Suns are going to win, they’ll need a big effort from their reserves. In Game 2, they got 22 points from Cam Payne and looked much better than a flat Game 3 showing. I’m just not sure there is much they can do to win in LA outside of getting a massive game from Chris Paul. If Paul comes to play, we’ll see a tight game.
