NBA Free Agency Odds: James Harden Breakdown

According to the oddsmakers, James Harden is given a 98.68% chance of returning to the Philadelphia 76ers after a big-time performance in Game 4 of their series against the Miami Heat. In the 76ers win over Miami, Harden finished with 31 points, 7 rebounds, and 9 assists as the Sixers pulled even at 2-2 in the series. He looked much more like the James Harden of old.

The NBA Free Agency odds give James Harden just a 7.69% chance of hitting the open market. To be fair, Harden has one more year left on his deal but it is an option so it's up to James Harden if he wants to opt-in or opt-out of his contract.

If he chooses to opt into his contract it would be for $47.4 million. Brian Windhorst reported at the end of last week that he thinks it is likely for James Harden to opt into the final year of his contract.

For James Harden, his points went down a little bit over the last few years, he's not scoring like he used to. In all likelihood, Harden will opt-in and then negotiate a new deal with the 76ers. Keep an eye out on this but as for now, I'm with the NBA Free Agency odds, I think he sticks with the 76ers next year.
