Clippers NBA Trade Rumors: 5 Trade Options for the Los Angeles Clippers in 2022

The Clippers are looking to reload for a healthy season next season, and it was proven as they made some trades midseason. Now it’s time to continue to put the perfect supporting cast around Paul George and Kawhi Leonard. Let's highlight some trades to help make that happen.

Clippers NBA Trade Rumors

5. Malcolm Brogdon

The Clippers got off to a solid start on putting a supporting cast around George and Leonard during last season, and they seem to be content with the guards they have, but if they were serious about putting the best squad they can together, they’d make a move for Brogdon. He’d be a great floor spacer and ball-handler for them, which is an ideal fit for the Clippers. A trade for Brogdon would be at the expense of a Reggie Jackson and draft capital, both of which the Clippers might be stingy with, but if they got over it, the trade would be a great step towards a deep playoff run.

4. Kyrie Irving

The Nets’ situation with Irving has been weird, and even though he’s opted into his guaranteed salary with the Nets next season, he could still be traded. The Clippers have shown willingness to make big trades, i.e. Paul George. Irving could provide a player who’s been able to get over the hump and win a championship, like Leonard. Combine the two, if they stay healthy, they’re likely favorites to come out of the Western Conference. It’s worth the swing for the Clippers if they can make the trade happen.

3. Harrison Barnes

Barnes could provide much-needed safety and depth for the Clippers. The Kings are in an attempt to win now, so a third team may need to be involved to provide the Kings with a player they could utilize in their rotation. If the Clippers bring in Barnes, they could feel some comfort if injuries occur between one of their two stars, as Barnes could step in as a scorer and a shot creator. Barnes also brings in even more championship experience to a squad trying to get it done together. If the Clippers can provide the Kings with a player they feel is a better fit for their squad than Barnes, no third team will need to be included and both teams can potentially ‘win’ the trade.

2. Myles Turner

Turner is a consistently good fit for any contender, or any team trying to win for that matter. His shot-blocking and rim protection alone is valuable for any squad, plus his defensive versatility in general. His ability to stretch the floor makes him that much more valuable, and when put around star talent, Turner will be in a position to thrive and make the most of a great situation, furthering the Clippers chances to make a deep run in the playoffs. It’s a fit that would both elevate George and Leonard's game, but Turners as well. When you can put a player of that caliber in a position to elevate their game, you overpay to make it happen.

1. Andre Drummond

Drummond was solid last season for the 76ers before being traded to the Nets, and with the Net’s weird roster construction and insecurity for next season, they may have players on the move. The Clippers would be smart to take advantage of a weird situation in Brooklyn because Drummond may be obtainable at a smaller price, which would give the Clippers solid depth at the center position. Come playoff time, more options at the center position have been a proven method, as you have different centers for different matchups.
