Marc Berman of the New York Post is reporting that some of the Knicks front office is worried about giving up too much. Apparently, the price was seven first round picks and players for Donovan Mitchell.

Mitchell immediately impacts this team but as cited by Berman in the article by a coaching source, it likely just bumps them from a 37-win team to a 47-win team. Is that enough to really move the needle forward?

If not then that kind of puts them in the spot they were in with Carmelo Anthony. They had a star but couldn't get the pieces around him to be any real threat in the Eastern Conference.

Mitchell is a three-time All-Star with the Utah Jazz and is still just 25 years old. He's a native New Yorker so the fit makes a ton of sense, it just comes down to if the Knicks want to pull the trigger or not.
