The Atlanta Hawks season has been rocky, to say the least. Their underperformance has put Nate McMillan on the hot seat. Despite many believing Atlanta would compete for an Eastern Conference title before the NBA season tipped off, it appears the sportsbooks think it’s only a matter of time before he loses his job. Here is a look at the latest next NBA coach to be fired odds.

Next NBA Head Coach Fired Odds

McMillan is given -150 odds, or an implied 60% chance to be the next head coach fired. The next best odds are given to Steve Clifford, who’s given +300 odds or an implied 25% chance to be the next coach fired.

Perhaps it is surprising that the books expect coaches of rebuilding teams also to lose their jobs. Rockets’ head coach Stephen Silas is +400 odds, or an implied 20% chance to be the next coach fired. Dwayne Casey is next with +600 odds, or an implied 14.3% chance the Pistons fire him next.

Interestingly, Jamahl Mosley, who was the favorite to lose his job earlier in the season at +300, is now given +3300 odds to be the next head coach fired. So it appears he’s safe for now.

It’s no question that the Hawks season has been a disappointment. With their talent, they shouldn’t be languishing under .500. They’re just 1.5 games up on the Pacers, who are currently outside the play-in. There are trade rumors swirling around the team as the trade deadline approaches. It’s hard to know when the Hawks may move away from McMillan, but the books believe a move is coming.
