NBA Championship Odds: Are the Suns Title Favorites After Trading for Kevin Durant?
The Phoenix Suns might have just made the biggest splash in the past decade as they found a way to get superstar Kevin Durant to The Valley. It was an incredible move for Phoenix as they look to win an NBA Championship. It's not going to be an easy task with some of the teams in the Western Conference, but they surely have more than enough to get the job done at this point. Below, we will take a look at the latest NBA Championship odds and see if the Phoenix Suns are the favorites to win it all after the pickup.
It was rumored in the offseason that Durant wanted to land in Phoenix after requesting his trade the first time around. It wasn't made certain this time around that he had asked for a trade, but it looks like something must have happened in the front office out in Brooklyn because he got exactly what he asked for. Now, Phoenix could possibly have the best duo in all of basketball.
Let's take a look at the latest NBA Championship odds and see where the books have the Phoenix Suns at the moment.

Some people might say that the trio that they had in Brooklyn with Kyrie Irving, James Harden, and Durant was better, but I would like to mention one thing and that's Devin Booker doesn't go out of his way and ask for everything to be handed to him. James Harden and Kyrie Irving were clearly not the right fit for Durant.
Although Kevin Durant has certainly had his fair share of drama he's been involved with, he typically seems like he just wants to go out there and play basketball. Unfortunately, the two other guys in Brooklyn didn't have that same plan.
It's not a surprise that Phoenix currently has the third-highest odds to win the NBA Finals. Everybody knows what Kevin Durant can do on a basketball court and there's still a good argument to be made that if he's healthy, he's the best player in all of basketball. They have Devin Booker who has proven to be a star in this league and that was evident when he took this team to an NBA Championship just two seasons ago.
Now, with the addition of Durant, Phoenix is hopeful that they're going to be even better than the team that season.
There are certainly some worries about what Phoenix is going to be able to do on the defensive side of the basketball now. Those are all warranted considering that they did just give up their two best wing players in Mikal Bridges and Cam Johnson. Bridges is widely regarded as one of the top defenders in all of basketball and Cam Johnson is a solid 3-and-D type of player.
From a Phoenix perspective here, this was absolutely the right trade and their NBA Championship odds certainly reflect that.
