Damian Lillard has done a lot in his career, but there are a few things that he hasn’t yet accomplished. One of them is to win the NBA 3-point contest. Sportsbooks expect that to change this year.

2023 NBA 3-Point Contest Odds
Dame is given +300 odds, or an implied 25% chance to win this year’s 3-point contest. He’d be the first Portland Trail Blazer who’s won the trophy. His biggest competition is expected to be Buddy Hield, who’d given +350 odds, or an implied 22.2% chance. A win for Hield would be the fourth for the Kings’ franchise tying them with the Heat and Bulls for the most all-time.
On the other side of the market, there’s Julius Randle who’s +900 odds or implied 10% chance is the worst in the field. With Jericho Sims in the slam dunk contest, the Knicks have a chance to become the second team in NBA history to win both the 3-Point and Dunk contests in the same year, joining the 1995 Miami Heat. Speaking of the Heat, Tyler Herro, at +700 has the next worst on the odds market. If he were to win though, the Heat would set a new record with 5 3-point contest wins.
It’s a strange year. The NBA didn’t invite any of the top-10 three-point shooters in the league, which opens up the field to just about anyone. Lillard is the favorite, but with all eight competitors given at least a 10% chance to win this is one of the tightest three-point contests oddsmakers have seen. For example, last year both CJ McCollum and Karl Anthony Towns were given worse than a 10% chance.
