But can a new coach convince star point guard Trae Young to stay in Atlanta? The sportsbooks aren’t so sure.

Trae Young Next Team Odds

With Trae Young’s future in doubt, the sportsbooks are already looking at where he could land. The early favorite is the Miami Heat, who are given +400 odds or an implied 20% chance. The market is expected to be packed though, with nine teams given at least a 10% chance to land the two-time All-Star.

If not Miami, the Chicago Bulls are expected to have interest at +500 or an implied 16.7% chance. Interestingly, so are the Dallas Mavericks who already have two All-Star point guards in Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic, are given +600 odds or an implied 14.3% chance.

What’s interesting here is that every team expected to be in on Young is currently in a spot where they may be able to contend. Of the nine teams given at least a 10% chance to land Young, the Bulls are the only one not currently in a play-in spot or better.

No teams flush with draft picks looking towards the future like the Oklahoma City Thunder or Utah Jazz are on the market. It’s all about who can win, which may hint at where Young may want to end up.
