March Madness Winner Early Odds

March Madness Winner Early Odds
There are always massive upsets in the NCAA Tournament. But despite all of the craziness, it's extremely rare for a lower-tier team to win an NCAA Tournament. What I mean is that, while we might see a couple of one-seeds get knocked out by the Sweet 16 or Elite Eight, we'll also more than likely see a one-seed make the Final Four and compete for the NCAAB Championship.
Which teams have the best chance at winning this year's March Madness? Here are our early odds as we get closer to conference tournaments.
Final Four Bets
Gonzaga Bulldogs +380
Gonzaga has been a runner-up in 2017 and 2021. The Bulldogs lost to North Carolina in 2017 by six points and were absolutely smacked around by Baylor in 2021. But this year feels a bit different for Gonzaga. The Bulldogs have been elite on the offensive end, shooting 38 percent from deep and 61.6 percent from inside the arc. On top of that, on the defensive end, Gonzaga is holding opponents to a 42.5 percent effective field goal percentage, which is the best percentage in the nation. It's hard to defend against this quick Gonzaga offense and it's hard to score against a Bulldogs team that holds opponents to 40.9 percent from inside the arc. This could be the year for the Bulldogs. Finally.

Arizona +750
The Arizona Wildcats have been tremendous this year. The Wildcats might not have the greatest offense in comparison to Gonzaga, but the defense stacks up right there with Gonzaga. The Wildcats are top-10 in both offensive and defensive efficiency. Currently, Arizona has held opponents to a 43 percent effective field goal percentage while shooting a 55.5 percent effective field goal percentage on the offensive end. Teams might have a poor shooting night, but you can't have a bad effort night. Arizona also rebounds 35.8 percent of chances on the offensive end to keep possessions alive.
Other Teams to Think About:
- Kentucky +700
- Auburn +1200
- Duke +1500
- Baylor +1800
- UCLA +2800
- Houston +4000
When looking for a March Madness Champion, you want to find the teams that can handle both sides of the ball. There are great teams in the mix like Purdue, Kansas, Villanova, Texas Tech, and Illinois. However, these teams are consistent on both sides of the basketball like the list above. Kentucky, for example, is an elite offense playing well enough defensively to have a chance. However, Iowa for example is an elite offense but has struggled on the defensive end, just like Purdue. Keep this in mind when you're looking to bet a National Champion. Things can also change. We've still got more regular-season games to be played at this time and the conference tournaments can shape the bracket up a bit differently than expected.
