If I'm going to pick a favorite for March Madness, it will be Arizona. The Wildcats just won the Pac-12 and proved that they have everything an NCAA Tournament contender needs. Arizona is elite on the offensive end and defensive end. Arizona is shooting an effective field goal percentage of 55.9%, on the offensive end, while earning 34.5% offensive rebounds. On top of that, Arizona gets to the line at a high pace and continues to score inside with ease, hitting 57.5% of looks. This team has length, smarts, and a lot of talent. We haven't seen a team in the West win the Tournament in quite some time. UCLA came close. But I do think it's Arizona's year.
Kansas @ +900 (Bet $100 to win $900)
In my opinion, Kansas has the most accessible road to the Final Four. The Jayhawks just beat West Virginia, TCU, and Texas Tech to win the Big 12 and now have a bunch of teams in the Midwest Region that have either been lucky or really bad on the road. Kansas is shooting lights out from the field and earning a ton of offensive rebounds while getting to the line at an above-average pace. Meanwhile, on the defensive end, opponents are struggling to score, hitting just 30.1% of threes and 47.9% of twos. Give this Kansas team credit. They got through a very tough Big 12 conference and finished the season with 28 wins. This team is elite and for +900, there's value.
USC @ +10000 (Bet $100 to win $10,000)
If it's not going to be Kansas, it's going to be USC. The Trojans are poised to make another run at the NCAA Tournament. The Trojans get Miami, Auburn, and then potentially Wisconsin before likely having to take on Kansas. The Pac-12 got a lot of credit last year for competing and I like that to continue into this year's tournament. USC is a balanced team that can dominate the glass, defend inside and shoot it from three at a high rate. There's your longshot!
